Imbolc - New Beginnings

4-6 Febuary 2011

Back to Workshops >>>
The ancient festival of Imbolc marks the centre point of the dark half of the year. Following the darkness of midwinter it is the season to prepare for growth and renewal. It is a time to remember that deep in the earth lie the dormant seeds of new life and creativity which will soon be making their way upwards and outwards.

This ‘New Beginnings’ weekend takes its inspiration from Imbolc and gives you the chance to seek out those seeds of creativity and to start thinking and planning for the new year ahead.

Nature
Traditionally a time for searching for signs of spring - you’ll be guided through Europe’s largest beech forest with an professional Botanist . Even at this dormant time of year you will be amazed at all you can see and learn with some expert guidance.

Nurture
Our ancestors feasted at this time of year, so in keeping with this tradition the weekend includes a meal with seasonal produce
Option: you can also book a massage, reflexology session, or take a walk to Loughcrew Cairns.

Create
Now is the time to explore your creative side - and perhaps try something you haven’t done before. We’ve organised workshops led by experienced facilitators in creative writing and art. You can also choose to bring your camera and take a walk through the forest with an experienced photographer on hand.
