The Hag's Chair, Loughcrew
There are so many stories about this woman whose tale is so intensely bound up with Sliabh na Caillí. Was she running from a threat or an enemy when she fell from the sky, broke her neck and was buried there? Was she a wise woman of the area who gave advice and to the local people and as such was venerated after her death with a burial at their most sacred site? Was she the witch of popular legend who dropped stones from her apron and formed the Sliabh that way? Is she an aspect of the famed triple Goddess of Celtic lore?
